Bargaining is part of Moroccan culture, not a confrontation. Start by offering 40% to 50% of the initial quoted price with a warm smile, and settle around 60%–70%. If the price does not suit you, politely walk away.

While Marrakech is modern, covering shoulders and knees when walking through traditional Medina alleys and religious areas is respectful and helps avoid unwanted stares.
6. Get a Local SIM Card on Arrival
Pick up a free tourist SIM card (Maroc Telecom, Inwi, or Orange) right at the airport luggage hall and recharge it with 50–100 MAD for 5GB–10GB of high-speed data. Google Maps offline is essential in the Medina maze.
7. Pre-Book an Airport Transfer for Night Arrivals
Navigating pedestrian Medina alleys with suitcases after dark can be stressful. Have your riad arrange a driver to meet you at the terminal and escort you with a luggage cart to the door.
8. Always Ask for the Taxi Meter (*Compteur*)
When taking small beige *Petit Taxis* in Guéliz or the city center, insist that the driver turns on the *compteur*. If they refuse, wait for the next taxi.

Summer (July & August) can exceed 42°C (108°F). The best months with pleasant 24°C–28°C weather are March to May and September to November.
